When Dane Erbach was in middle school during the mid-1990s, before the information superhighway rolled through, students turned to library books and encyclopedias for facts.
Today, students are likely to get their information first from social media sources such as TikTok, the 39-year-old McHenry High School teacher said. That doesn’t necessarily mean they’re easily misled, Erbach said.
